Charleston Crowned U.S. #1 City by Travel + Leisure’s World’s Best Awards

We are thrilled to announce that Charleston, South Carolina has once again been named the No. 1 city in the United States—and Canada—by Travel + Leisure’s 2017 World’s Best Awards.

This marks Charleston’s fifth consecutive year at the top of the list. We are honored and humbled by the support of our community and all who voted.

Charleston outperformed other destinations across six categories: Sights & Landmarks, Arts & Culture, Restaurants & Food, People & Friendliness, Shopping, and Value.

“It’s no surprise that Travel + Leisure readers have once again rated Charleston the best city in the United States.
