Chicago Craft Beer Itinerary: Discover Lincoln Park & Lakeview Breweries

These scenic waterfront neighborhoods are home to university students, young families, Cubs fans — and lots of great spots to drink beer. Explore the charming, tree-lined streets of Lincoln Park and Lakeview to find two taprooms from up-and-coming brewers that you can only taste in Chicago, plus plenty of popular neighborhood beer bars.

Stop 1: DryHop Brewers

As the name implies, DryHop Brewers focuses on hop-centric ales — and they’re only available here in Lakeview. Order a pint of Shark Meets Hipster, a wheat IPA, while you enjoy a burger and the casual vibes. Brewing equipment is on display inside and a bustling patio spills out onto the sidewalk outside. 3155 N. Broadway

Stop 2: Greenstar Brewing

You can feel good about what you drink at Greenstar Brewing, the first certified organic brewery in Illinois. The seven-barrel brewhouse is adjacent to its sister restaurant, Uncommon Ground, and has serving tanks that feed right into the restaurant’s tap system. Tours are held every Saturday. 3810 N. Clark St.

Stop 3: Sheffields Wine & Beer Garden

Time for some fresh air. Sheffields is known for their welcoming beer garden, along with their unique craft beer selection. They have an extensive draft list, which features plenty of Chicago breweries, like Lo Rez, Hopewell, and Marz Community Brewing, plus more options from all around the Midwest. 3258 N. Sheffield Ave.

Stop 3: Corridor Brewery & Provisions

From the team behind Dryhop Brewers comes Corridor Brewery & Provisions, just about a mile west. Its a farmhouse craft brewery that’s big into hops and also artisan pizzas baked in a hearth oven. Tables sit right aside the brewing equipment, so you get a glimpse into the process as you sip your double dry hopped IPA. 3446 N. Southport Ave.

Stop 4: Beermiscuous

Imagine your favorite coffee shop — now imagine if they served beer. That’s how it feels inside Beermiscuous, a laidback beer cafe on the edge of Lincoln Park and Lakeview. Read a book by the fireplace, unwind with some friends, play one of the old-school board games — all while sipping on an excellent lineup of local craft beers. 2812 N. Lincoln Ave.
