What to know

The Moore Hornor House was completed in 1859 by Arthur Thompson. It served as a headquarters and hospital during the American Civil War. The home was later purchased by the Moore family, before being the residence of the Hornors. This historical property came under the management of the Delta Cultural Center and has been restored.

  • USS Razorback: Historic WWII & Vietnam Submarine Museum in North Little Rock

    What to know The 311-foot submarine was present in Tokyo Bay at the signing of the Peace Treaty ending WW II. Named after the whale, not the U of A sports mascot, it is the only vessel to have earned battle ribbons in WW II and Vietnam. After being decommissioned, the sub was sold to Turkey where it served for 30 years at the Murat Rels. Obtained by North Little Rock, the sub complements the citys military history found at Camp Robinson and Camp Pike; tours offered. GROUPS: Group tours available

  • Morton Theatre – A Historic Landmark in Athens, Illinois

    The Morton Theatre Historic Heartland Athens The Morton Building was built in 1910 by Monroe Bowers (Pink) Morton, a prominent, local, African-American businessman. At one time, the Morton Building formed the core of the downtown black business district. Many of Athens black doctors, dentists and pharmacists practiced in the Morton Building. The theatre was opened
