Built by students of the Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School, the museum celebrates the former Tallulah Falls Railway which once ran through Rabun Gap. Exhibits include not only TFR railroad artifacts and photographs but also a full-size two-foot gauge locomotive, passenger car, flat car, caboose and tracks constructed by the students under the direction of industrial technology teacher and railroad and train enthusiast Dess Oliver.  

With a history that traces back to 1854, the Tallulah Falls Railroad was created by the Georgia General Assembly to establish a rail line from Athens to North Georgia. The line reached the town of Clayton in 1898 and nine years later arrived in Franklin, NC.  Passenger service ceased in 1946 and although efforts were made to save it, railroad traffic was terminated in 1961.  

The Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School Tallulah Falls Railroad is nestled between the campus of Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School and the Dillard House on Highway 441 North in Rabun Gap, GA.
