Where We Stayed: VH Atmosphere
Our stay at VH Atmosphere, a newly opened (December 2020) adults-only resort and beach club, was spectacular. Every corner offers Instagram-worthy views—we snapped countless photos!
This all-inclusive gem features a full buffet for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and late-night bites at El Lago; an infinity pool; pool bar; coffee shop; multi-level gym; and games room.
Beyond the buffet, savor international and Italian restaurants with impeccable styling and gourmet quality rivaling Halifax or Toronto fine dining. Our steak dinner at the Italian spot was unforgettable—we devoured every bite.

Where We Ate
The resort's cuisine was exceptional and abundant, but we explored sister property Casa Colonial (boutique, non-all-inclusive). We sampled tuna tartare, avocado toast, and local dishes—one of my best meals ever.
Our first night, we dined beachside in Cabarete at La Casita de Papi. Their signature langoustine with Papi's sauce and linguine was magical—complex yet comforting flavors, open kitchen, live music, and ocean waves. A must-visit!
What We Did
In just three nights (pre-Thanksgiving), my friend Allie and I packed in adventures. We enjoyed resort amenities, toured Casa Colonial, attended Discover Puerto Plata events, city tours, and the iconic cable car for panoramic views.
