"We distributed hand sanitizer cases, installed a contactless credit card reader, added UV disinfectant and a peroxide ionizer to the HVAC system, removed shared cutters and lighters (loaning sanitized ones instead), and nightly fogged the shop with ultra-high-power ionizers."
Additional measures include mandatory masks, hand sanitizer, customer-wiped lounge seats, food-grade gloves for humidor selection (or staff assistance), ensuring a safe experience.
Beyond in-store protocols, they've expanded access with curbside pickup, home delivery, and mail order—services ramped up post-March. "We're bringing downtown State College and Your Cigar Den to customers' homes," Ghaffari notes.
They've also hosted safe, outdoor themed cigar dinners at Gigi's Southern Table, like Luau, Havana Night, and Octoberfest, blending exceptional food, drinks, and cigars.
Challenges persist: Penn State traffic has dropped due to no games, Rush Week, or Parents' Weekend, plus downtown hesitancy amid infections. Yet, cigar sales are surging nationwide during the pandemic.
