State College Spikes Release 2021 MLB Draft League Home Schedule Starting May 24
The State College Spikes have unveiled their schedule for the inaugural Major League Baseball Draft League season. Fans across Happy Valley can look forward to a 34-game regular season home schedule at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park, running from Monday, May 24, through Friday, August 13.
The 2021 home schedule kicks off with Opening Night on Monday, May 24, as the Spikes host the Williamsport Crosscutters, reigniting a classic rivalry from the former New York-Penn League. The teams will clash at Medlar Field on June 3, June 8-10, June 20, July 17-18, July 23-24, August 6-8, and August 12-13.
Fans will also welcome back other familiar New York-Penn League opponents, including the West Virginia Black Bears (June 11-13) and the Mahoning Valley Scrappers (June 22-24 and June 29-July 1).
New to the Spikes' slate in the MLB Draft League are the Trenton Thunder (formerly Double-A Eastern League) and Frederick Keys (formerly Advanced-A Carolina League). The Thunder visit May 28-30, July 4-5, and July 27-29, while the Keys arrive May 31-June 1.
Responding to fan feedback, standard start times for Monday-Saturday home games shift to 6:35 p.m., with Sundays at 4:05 p.m. for more afternoon baseball. Early starts also feature on Memorial Day (May 31 vs. Frederick) and Independence Day (July 5 vs. Trenton). The July 4 Sunday game time will be announced later.
