Explore Greece’s Cultural Heritage with Eye’s Walk Digital Festival

From the amazing Castle of Mytilene, an old whorehouse, a restored Ottoman hammam, a boats’ cemetery at the port of Eleusis, to a neoclassical mansion in Ermoupolis, the terrace of Saint Trinity Church at the medieval settlement of Ano Syros or the ambitious canvas of an entire city, our vision and ambition is to bring people and art together in the public space. The local community, visitors and tourists are the soul of the public space and the co-creators of our works! We are based in Ermoupolis, the capital of Syros island in the middle of the Aegean sea, but our vision is to expand our bold and innovative productions both nationally and internationally. In 2018, Eye’s Walk Digital festival brought the amazing and much loved Castle of Mytilene alive, using Video Installation art that interacted with a choreographed performance by the local community and the visitors of Lesvos island. A project which combined the old, historical element with the new. The archeological site of the Castle of Mytilene, (its Byzantine and Ottoman fortifications, an old whorehouse, the Ottoman hammam, the Ottoman fountain], place of memory, insight and thought became a new place where the past meets the present through the most modern art and digital technology! Ermoupoli (Hermoupolis) - the capital of Syros island - provides the perfect space to accommodate a dreamy set-up. The light, movement and colours of Video installation Art on old, historical buildings of the city trigger the senses unexpectedly and truly awaken the spectator! Ermoupoli is “home” for so many people from various backgrounds (religious, social, national). Its buildings and architecture have their own stories to tell for decades now. Eye’s Walk Digital festival is working closely with the local community, local and international artists and with students from the University of the Aegean, to create an immersive experience for the audience and the visitors of the island. Our productions are held at the historical centre of Ermoupolis, as well as at the medieval settlement of Ano Syros. A unique experience for everyone! https://www.facebook.com/eyeswalk/, www.eyeswalk.gr. Please contact us at info@eyeswalk.gr to find out where our next production will be held and prepare your trip accordingly. Coming production on Syros Island: 30-31 August 2019. We will be glad to welcome you at Syros and create for you a tailor made cultural and digital art experience!
