Canadian Pacific’s Holiday Train Brings Festive Spirit to Minnesota

Serena Ryder and The Trews will headline Canadian Pacific's 'Holiday Train at Home' concert in lieu of the train's annual ride through the northern U.S.

Most Decembers, you can see the CP Holiday Train as it visits more than two-dozen Minnesota towns on its annual ride to spread Christmas cheer in exchange for donations to local food banks. Due to the pandemic, this year CP will host a virtual 'Holiday Train at Home' concert to keep spreading the holiday spirit while drawing attention to food security issues even if the train itself will not run.

  • Exploring Southeast Asia s Hidden Gems: Thailand’s Karst Caves, Khao Soi, and Packraft Adventures

To South-East Asia we went, meandering through the north-east hills of Thailand, soaking in every bit of charm we could find. From limestone karst caves to bowls of khao soi soup in rustic kitchens, we sought the most luscious landscapes and people we could find. • Maniflowba: Autumn Reflections Along the Nelson River

Damp brush crackles in the fire, hissing with moisture as last night’s embers ignite. The first rays of muted, golden sunlight cut through the smoke as it climbs into the cloudless autumn sky. Fall has arrived on the Nelson River in northern Canada. The morning is completely calm. Except for the thunder of whitewater. A lone figure ambles around the riverside camp and into the makeshift kitchen crafted from tarps tied to rough cut logs. Camp stoves and cutlery are lightly dusted with bonfir

  • Confronting Fear in the Andes: A Journey of Courage

‘No tienes miedo?’ Aren’t you afraid? The growing crowd of cholitas falls silent, waiting for my answer. I get asked this question in every pueblo, these small Aymara or Quechua communities, isolated in the highest regions of the remote Bolivian Andes. I shrug, smile, and say ‘Si, un poco’. Yes, a little. The truth is, I’m not a little afraid. I’m very afraid. Fourteen days ago, in a small town near the Peruvian border, I stood at the start line, the base of the Bolivian Andes, sheltering f
