Discover the Big Bugs Exhibit at Harry P. Leu Gardens, Orlando
Big bugs have come to Leu Gardens in Orlando for 2016 — but in a good way.
It’s true that Florida bugs sometimes come extra‑large, but for a limited time, the giant insect sculptures have landed at Harry P. Leu Gardens, just a 10‑minute walk from downtown Orlando. The latest buzz in the botanical park is the Big Bugs exhibit, on display through April 15, 2016.
Big Bugs is a traveling exhibition that showcases a variety of insects and arthropods. The display educates visitors on the differences between spider species and other insects, blending art and science.
The massive sculptures — some reaching a height of 12 feet — are crafted from wood using diverse trees, branches, and saplings. Each piece is a testament to craftsmanship and natural wonder.
While strolling the winding paths of the gardens, keep an eye out for giant ants, dragonflies, and ladybugs. Don’t forget to look up — a gargantuan spider may be perched above you!
