Santa Fe Gardens in Full Bloom: Discover the City's Best Outdoor Havens
It's springtime in Santa Fe, when trees explode in pink and white blossoms, daffodils line adobe walls with vibrant yellow, wisteria drapes in purple cascades, and cottonwoods turn lush green. As The City Different awakens, explore its stunning gardens, lush landscapes, and scenic preserves.
Santa Fe offers far more than juniper and sagebrush. Nature lovers will delight in these premier gardens and outdoor spaces—perfect additions to your itinerary.
Santa Fe Botanical Garden at Museum Hill
Art and plants harmonize beautifully at the Santa Fe Botanical Garden.
Nestled below Museum Hill and straddling Arroyo de los Pinos, this garden showcases native plants and those cultivated here for over 400 years. Opened in phases—Orchard Gardens in 2013 and Ojos y Manos: Eyes and Hands in 2016—it operates daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., April through October.
The Ojos y Manos section delves into ethnobotany, highlighting northern New Mexico's human-plant history with traditional crops. Stunning sculptures enhance the natural beauty.
Year-round events include Yoga and Tai Chi (June–September), and the Sunset in the Garden Concert Series (first Thursdays, May–September)—ideal for picnics.

Vibrant blooms hide behind Santa Fe's iconic adobe walls.
