ZORA!™ Festival in Historic Eatonville Near Orlando

Feb. 1–31: 31st Annual Zora Neale Hurston Festival of the Arts & Humanities (ZORA!™)
The ZORA! Festival, launched in 1990, is a multi‑disciplinary, intergenerational celebration featuring public talks, museum exhibitions, theater productions, arts‑education programming, and a two‑day Outdoor Festival of the Arts. The event unfolds primarily in Eatonville—just 10 miles north of downtown Orlando—and throughout Orange County.

Feb. 8: Paws in the Park
Paws in the Park brings dog owners and their pets to Lake Eola Park for a day of games, a beer garden, food trucks, adoptable pets, and more. Proceeds support Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando, the region’s oldest and largest animal‑welfare agency.

Feb. 9: 9th Annual Dragon Parade Lunar New Year Festival
Located in Orlando’s Mills 50 district, the festival celebrates the Lunar New Year with Japanese taiko drumming, acrobatic performances, cultural dances, cuisine, martial arts demonstrations, and a lively dragon parade. The 2020 “Year of the Rat” is highlighted by dragon and lion dances.
Feb. 12: Black History Month Reception
Mayor Buddy Dyer and City Commissioners host a reception honoring the impact of Black Americans in Central Florida. This year’s theme, “2020 African American and The Vote,” focuses on voting rights and civil‑rights contributions.
Feb. 22: Orlando International Jazz Festival
The festival showcases performers such as Sheila E., Najee, Four80East, and JJ Sansaverino, along with food, drinks, art, and vendors. It takes place at the Apopka Amphitheater, 35 minutes northwest of downtown Orlando.

Selected nights host headline acts, while daily performances showcase Louisiana jazz, blues, and zydeco. Key concerts include The Roots (Feb. 1), Karol G (Feb. 8), Bell Biv DeVoe (Feb. 15), and more.

Feb. 1–2: Running Universal Epic Character Race 5K & 10K
Run through Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure while meeting beloved characters. Runners receive medals, photo opportunities, and exclusive swag.
