Explore September in Dallas Arts District: Exhibitions, Late Nights, and Festivals
Discover Election-Themed Art.
Visit the Nasher Sculpture Center to experience an election-inspired collection by Los Angeles artist Kathryn Andrews. The exhibit Kathryn Andrews: Run for President uses the November presidential election as its core narrative, presenting a fictitious lineup of historic and imaginary candidates alongside authentic campaign artifacts. The show runs from Sept. 10, 2016 to Jan. 8, 2017.
Stay Up Late.
Mark your calendar for September 16! From 6 pm, both the Dallas Museum of Art and the Nasher Sculpture Center transform into nighttime cultural hubs. Enjoy acoustic singer‑songwriter performances, food trucks, movie screenings (the film Brooklyn will be shown at the Nasher), and ample time to explore exhibitions. Children under 11 enter free. If you miss this, the next Late Night event falls on October 21.
Kick Off Festival Season.
Celebrate Mexican heritage at the Cathedral Shrine of the Virgin of Guadalupe with a street festival featuring family‑friendly activities. Partnering with the Crow Collection of Asian Art, the Fall Festival on Friday, September 16, runs from 10 am to 6 pm and offers performances, demonstrations, and art projects that highlight the diverse cultures shaping talavera (Mexican pottery).
