6 Must‑Know Highlights at This Year’s Texas State Fair

The theme is "Celebrating Texas Agriculture."

Begin your day at the Livestock 101 stage, a new initiative that ties the fair’s annual theme to daily presentations by resident livestock experts. Discover the cattle, pigs, and other animals on display each day, and take advantage of the Guided Livestock Tour for a closer look. Livestock 101 runs every morning, giving you plenty of chances to catch a session (or two!). The fair also hosts competitive livestock events—pick the ones that excite you most.

The Budweiser Clydesdales are back.

After an 11‑year absence, the majestic Clydesdales have returned. Visit the Budweiser Clydesdales Stable Display to see the horses up close and learn about their storied history. Don’t miss petting Clyde the Dalmatian, the Clydesdales’ mascot and stable mate.

Taylor Swift is making an appearance (sort of.)

Pop royalty fans should head to the Taylor Swift Experience™ and walk through a timeline of the singer’s career. View memorable performance costumes, tour photos, and instruments—including the light‑blue gown she wore at the 50th ACM Awards at AT&T Stadium last year.

Bring your sweet tooth.

The Big Tex Choice Awards are a must‑see. This year’s winners were Best Taste: Fried Jell‑O (a cherry‑flavored Jell‑O coated in panko breading) and Most Creative: State Fair Cookies Fries (crinkle‑cut fries dipped in chocolate and sprinkles). Find these award‑winning treats throughout the fairgrounds, along with a variety of other fried delicacies.
