Dallas’s iconic skyline is the perfect backdrop for runners of all levels. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned marathoner, these routes offer scenic paths and reliable mileage.
White Rock Lake – 9 miles
White Rock Lake’s 9‑mile loop delivers sweeping skyline views while staying close to Downtown. The trail, located just 5 miles from the city center and adjacent to the Dallas Arboretum, blends natural scenery with an urban vibe. In summer, you can cool off with paddle‑boarding or kayaking on the lake.
Katy Trail – 3.5 miles
Running the historic Katy Trail is a Dallas staple. The 3.5‑mile path runs from the American Airlines Center to Southern Methodist University, passing Oak Lawn and Uptown. After a solid workout, hydrate at the Katy Trail Ice House near the south end – a popular spot for post‑run refreshments.
Santa Fe Trail – 5.3 miles

The Trinity Skyline Trail hugs the Trinity River levees and offers unobstructed views of Reunion Tower and the Dallas skyline. A brief detour to the Ronald Kirk Pedestrian Bridge enhances the experience. The trail will eventually link to the 2.5‑mile Trinity Strand Trail in the Design District.
