Dallas Welcomes the 7th Annual World Food Championships

World Food Championships—an international culinary showdown—arrives in Dallas for the first time. In its seventh year, chefs and home cooks from across the globe will battle for glory and prizes.

What to Expect

The event takes place from Oct. 16 to Oct. 20 at Reunion Tower Lawn. Competitors will showcase their skills in ten categories: Bacon, Barbecue, Burger, Chef, Chili, Dessert, Recipe, Sandwich, Seafood, and Steak. Judges will score each dish on execution, appearance, and taste, awarding a maximum of ten points per criterion.

Each day the field narrows, culminating in a Top‑Ten round and an award ceremony on Sunday, Oct. 20 at 7 p.m.

Beyond the competition, the four‑day festival offers special events such as the Bourb ’N’ Que block party—where you can vote for the nation’s best barbecue—celebrity chef demonstrations, and a tasting pavilion featuring global cuisine.

Food lovers can also join the “Best Dallas Food Truck” search. Ten of the city’s favorite trucks will compete in a Face‑Off, and attendees may vote. Voting opens today and ends Oct. 7; try each truck’s signature dish on Oct. 20 and decide the winner.
