Fathom Wins Bronze in Prestigious 2013 Lowell Thomas Travel Journalism Awards

Fathom Wins Bronze in Prestigious 2013 Lowell Thomas Travel Journalism Awards

It's a good day at Fathom HQ. We have some happy news to share.

We just won bronze medal in the Best Online Travel Journalism category of the 2013 Lowell Thomas Travel Journalism Awards. We're thrilled and honored!

The annual competition is sponsored by the Society of American Travel Writers Foundation and is named for Lowell Thomas, the first roving newscaster, radio personality, prolific author, explorer, and wily globetrotter. He introduced the world to Lawrence of Arabia, documentary filmmaking, and travelogues. He's totally our kind of traveler.

The judges said many nice things about Fathom, but we're especially proud that they are in it for the content:

"What shines on Fathom is the writing. The usual what-to-do lists are interesting reads with a frank and personal flair, illustrated with colorful photographs and links to resources."

And for that, we'd like to thank our writers and contributors, who make up our network of passionate travel peers, companions, and storytellers.

Congratulations to all the winners. We're in very impressive company. See them all here.

And as ever, thanks for reading.
