The Cairo International Book Fair is back for the 50th year, and it sees as many as one million visitors as the largest book fair in the Middle East. Booksellers from a famous secondhand market in central Cairo are boycotting the event for becoming too inaccessible (it's getting expensive and moved to a locale in the 'burbs). if you're heading to the French Alps to ski this winter, you might want to stay on the mountain (literally) at Flying Nest, a new mobile hotel concept by AccorHotels. Having made appearances at Le Mans race and a photography festival, the container-based accommodations will be setting up camp at the Avoriaz ski resort. Low impact and totally eco, they are inexpensive (from €150 per night), innovative, and may be the most ski-in, ski-out option ever. There's no website to book yet, but this is one to keep an eye on. - Pavia
