Exclusive Profile: Filmmaker, Environmentalist, and CauseCentric Founder Céline S. Cousteau

Exclusive Profile: Filmmaker, Environmentalist, and CauseCentric Founder Céline S. Cousteau

Hometown: Depends on the project.

Occupation: Filmmaker, Environmentalist, Founder-Executive Director of CauseCentric Productions (non-profit)

Favorite destinations: The Amazon, France, under water, on top of a mountain

Dying to visit: Indonesia, Mongolia, Amazon (again)

Bizarre travel rituals: None too bizarre.

In-flight relaxation regime: Watching one movie after another when I can choose them.

Always in carry-on: Computer, camera and lenses, voice recorder, notebook, book, magazine, trave-size La Prairie face cream, toothbrush, iPhone with backgammon, pens, change of clothes, and more (it gets heavy).

Concierge or DIY? DIY. Unless I'm looking for that one-of-a-kind home-cooking restaurant the concierge knows about but doesn't like to share with tourists — I can talk him into it.

See it all or take it easy? See it all is what I do for work. But on vacation...I think I would take it easy.

Drive or be driven? No doubt- drive.

Travel hero: My friend Kate, she has a knack for packing efficiently.

Weirdest thing seen on travels: Plastic bag filled with wingless grasshoppers to be sautéed with spices. Crunchy.

Best hotel amenity: The spa.

I dream about my meal at Tapioles 53 (Barcelona).

Everywhere I go, I check out the food markets.

When I arrive in a new place, I learn the lay of the land by buying a map and getting lost.

I always bring home lots of pictures and some local food specialty.

If I never return to that really crowded place it'll be too soon because who needs to be squeezed in the middle of a mass of people.

I travel everywhere for my work but it's also a passion to discover and share stories about new places, people, and cultures.
