ALEXANDER GIRARD: A DESIGNER’S UNIVERSE

Alexander Girard, a giant in design, shaped the Museum of International Folk Art's history. In 1981, it debuted “Multiple Visions” with over 100,000 objects from his estate. This summer, partnering with Germany’s Vitra Design Museum, the museum presents Girard's first major U.S. retrospective—recognized by the New York Times as a top spring exhibition.
