Celebrate Go for a Ride Day: Explore Southwest Louisiana's Creole Nature Trail
Over the river and through the marsh, to Grandmother’s house we go!
November 22 isn’t just Thanksgiving—it's also Go for a Ride Day! After your Thanksgiving feast and the inevitable food coma subsides, skip the football, movies, or holiday shopping crowds. Instead, embrace Go for a Ride Day by venturing outdoors in a car, bike, boat, motorcycle, or even a horse-drawn carriage. Create lasting family memories amid Southwest Louisiana's stunning landscapes.

For the ultimate ride, we recommend the Creole Nature Trail All-American Road. This iconic route offers adventure for every traveler, from wildlife enthusiasts to beach lovers, ensuring unforgettable experiences.
This 180-mile scenic driving loop winds through Cameron and Calcasieu Parishes, from marshlands and wildlife refuges to the Gulf of Mexico and back. Enjoy fishing, crabbing, hunting, boating, and exceptional nature photography along the way, with key stops to elevate your journey.

Starting on the west side, kick off at Creole Nature Trail Adventure Point, an engaging visitors’ center where all ages can immerse themselves in the sights, sounds, and smells of Southwest Louisiana's coastal ecosystems. Head south to the Sabine National Wildlife Refuge for boardwalk trails offering intimate wildlife encounters. Continue to Holly Beach to hunt for seashells, then cross the Cameron Ferry—keep an eye out for dolphins. Turn north on the east side to Pintail Wildlife Refuge, featuring a three-mile marsh loop ideal for birdwatching and alligator spotting, plus accessible boardwalks.
