Skip cooking this Friday night and treat yourself to authentic Southwest Louisiana cuisine delivered to your door. Unwind with the 2020 virtual edition of Downtown at Sundown, featuring live performances by the Casey Peveto Band and Rusty Metoyer & the Zydeco Krush. Pair your meal—perhaps from the Southwest Louisiana Brews & Spirits Trail—with great music. Watch the concert at www.pushvenue.com and www.facebook.com/downtownatsundown.
Mayor Hunter collaborated with event organizers to keep live music alive and support the local community through this virtual Downtown at Sundown.
The Casey Peveto Band delivers well-crafted red dirt and traditional country, including originals. As procountrymusic.com notes: “If you’re a fan of well-written, red dirt, great traditional country music, the Casey Peveto Band is right up your alley!”
This virtual event supports key local nonprofits: the Arts & Humanities Council of Southwest Louisiana and the Literacy Council of Southwest Louisiana. Traditional spring events like Downtown at Sundown and Live @ the Lakefront serve as major fundraisers. The Arts Council aids over 75 organizations, including the Lake Charles Symphony, Children’s Theater Company, and Imperial Calcasieu Museum. The Literacy Council offers programs to foster self-sufficiency, strengthen families, and enrich our community.
