MacFarlane's Celtic Pub: Epic Brunch and Legendary Bloody Mary in Lake Charles

In honor of National Bloody Mary Day on January 1, we're highlighting one of the Lake Area's most impressive Bloody Mary creations at MacFarlane's Celtic Pub in downtown Lake Charles. During a recent fall brunch outing with friends, I was skeptical about the hype surrounding their over-the-top Bloody Mary—after all, I'm a Southern native. But this drink was a full meal in itself!

Behold this masterpiece:

What's more stunning—the drink or the garnishes?

Celery, oranges, limes, lemons, bacon, cheese cubes, shrimp, fresh fruit, pickles, olives, and onion rings! That onion ring captures Southwest Louisiana's love for fried delights. While not the slimmest choice for 2021 resolutions, it's sure to brighten your day after 2020's challenges.

We also savored these brunch highlights:

Standouts included banana pancakes, chicken & waffles, and crabby tomatoes with lump crab meat and golden potatoes. See the photos for the full allure!
