Bagels

The Bagel Boys int he city and Rocklea Markets have perfected the gluten-free bagel, and it lacks nothing compared to its original gluten-filled version. Stuff it with turkey and brie or sweeten it up with cream cheese and honey.  If you prefer a deli-style bagel get the Ruben with pastrami, Swiss cheese, pickles, pickled red cabbage and Russian dressing you will not be disappointed. If you're near Caxton Street, drop into Scout for your gluten free bagel fix. Here you will want to order the breakfast or vegetarian bagel, perfectly flavoured fresh ingredients pared with killer home-made preserves.

Il Verde also do a divine bolognese and two types of gluten-free arancini, or head to Ristorante la Familgia in Woolloongabba, it is gluten friendly and happy to cater to dietary needs. In South Brisbane worship at the alter of Julius Pizzeria where their seasonal fresh gluten-free primi is cooked perfectly al dente and showered with freshly grated parmesan. Our favourites are the seafood seasonal pasta and the duck ragu. Chermside has Casa Cibo, a restaurant with an entire gluten-free kitchen and menu perfect for those who are seriously celiac. 

Risotto

Whoever made risotto with gluten should be cursed, but in the meantime we’ll praise  Casa Cibo, Arriva, Julius Pizzeria, Beccofino and Coppa Spuntino for their divine rendition of this delicious GF Italian dish.

Indian

Its sweet-chilli chicken, beef brisket or roast vegetable wraps are next-level goodness, paired with a side of sweet potato chips you just can’t turn down. The Wrapture in West End offers an epic selection of gluten-free wraps including lamb kofta, Halloumi, chicken, bratwurst tofu and more. We recommend the Venus Rising, Townsiville, Bratman and the Apollo - everything tastes better with halloumi.
