Disney’s Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser Hotel – All You Need to Know Before Booking
Disney’s newest themed experience, the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser, offers a two‑night, all‑inclusive adventure aboard the luxury starship Halcyon. Although it’s not a literal space voyage, the immersive design and storyline will make you feel like you’re truly aboard a galaxy‑class vessel.
What Is the Star Wars Hotel?
Located in Walt Disney World’s Orlando Resort, the Starcruiser is a boutique hotel with only 100 rooms and suites. Guests board a launch pod from the terminal and spend two nights aboard the Halcyon, experiencing a blend of cruise‑style amenities and Star Wars‑themed entertainment.
Location & Proximity to Galaxy’s Edge
The ship sits adjacent to Disney’s Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Hollywood Studios. This proximity allows a quick, themed excursion to the planet Batuu on day two of your stay.
Length of Stay
Stays last exactly two nights. The sample itinerary released by Disney outlines a full day of meals, activities, and surprises, followed by a day‑trip to Batuu and a return to the ship for the final morning’s breakfast.
Onboard Activities
Guests can:
- Train with lightsabers (minimum age 7)
- Explore the ship’s bridge and droid racing circuit
- Participate in interactive missions that let you choose sides with the First Order or Resistance
- Enjoy a dinner‑show at the Crown of Corellia Dining Room
- Play holo‑sabacc and sip cocktails at the Sublight Lounge
Your detailed itinerary will be available 30 days before departure via the Play Disney Parks app.
Dining Experience
All meals are included in the package:
- Breakfast & lunch – casual, menu‑driven
- Dinner – a table‑service supper club featuring live musical entertainment
- Quick‑service meals at Galaxy’s Edge during the Batuu excursion
Alcoholic and specialty beverages are extra. The Crown of Corellia Dining Room also offers a Sublight Lounge for non‑alcoholic options.
Room Options
Choose from:
- Standard Cabin – Queen bed, bunk, and pull‑down bed for a fifth guest
- Galaxy Class Suite – Sleeps four, includes a separate living area
- Grand Captain’s Suite – Two bedrooms, sleeps eight
All rooms feature digital projections of space, mini‑fridge, hair dryer, and interactive TVs that can display your current in‑ship location.
Age Restrictions
All ages are welcome. Certain activities, such as lightsaber training, require a minimum age of seven.
Pricing
Starting rates (Standard Cabin) are roughly $4,800 for two guests and $6,000 for four guests (three adults, one child). Suites command premium pricing. Included are all meals, activities, entertainment, and a day‑trip to Galaxy’s Edge. Optional add‑ons (e.g., droid or lightsaber construction, Captain’s Table upgrade) carry additional fees.
Is Star Wars Knowledge Essential?
Participation in role‑play is optional. Dress in costume if you wish, but you can also enjoy the experience as a spectator or simply relax in your cabin. For newcomers, pre‑trip reading like Marvel’s "Star Wars: Halcyon Legacy" or Amy Ratcliffe’s "The Art of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge" can enhance the journey.
When Did It Open?
The Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser began its maiden voyage on March 1, 2022, and reservations are now available for select guests.
