Discover Isla Vieja: Chiapas' Historic Coastal Archaeological Site
It is one of the most important archaeological sites on the coast of Chiapas and its location, between the coast and the Sierra Madre Oriental, makes it a unique place in its kind.
During your visit, you will find the foundations of what were once imposing pyramids, vestiges of strong stone walls, and enormous stelae carved in detail about 1,800 years old.
The most important structure of Iglesia Vieja is known as Group B, composed of three structures of platforms, bases, and a building that is located around a sort of main square.
