Warm Springs National Fish Hatchery – Historic Fisheries Center

Warm Springs National Fish Hatchery – Historic Fisheries Center Warm Springs National Fish Hatchery – Historic Fisheries Center Presidential Pathways Warm Springs

The Warm Springs National Fish Hatchery, established in 1899, is one of the oldiest hatcheries in the United States and serves a vital role in the management of our fishery resources. It consists of 56 acres with 40 ponds totaling 18.23 acres of water. The hatchery's primary area of concern is Georgia but work performed benefits species throughout the 10-state Southeast Region. Striped bass, sturgeon, and paddlefish, which are vital to the fishery resources, are raised/stocked here in cooperation with the various State game and fish agencies. Come visit our facility and your famly or class can enjoy a hike on our nature trail, bird watching, view wildlife in our display ponds, and learn about fish and wildlife in our public aquarium. The public aquarium and displays highlight the work done on station and by the Fish and Wildlife Service. Educational opportunities for groups exist during visits to learn more about hatchery operations and resource issues. Get outdoors and enjoy nature. Events include Kids Fish for Fun (June), Junior Ranger Camps (June), and Open House (September). Free Admission. Open year round Sunday thru Saturday.
