The Altama Museum collection is housed in the neoclassic-style Brazell House, built in 1911 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Best-known for its Libby Collection of Staffordshire porcelain dating from the 1800’s with over 260 pieces and 210 different patterns. Permanent exhibits also include 20th century paintings, antique prints, fine furniture, and historic costumes. The Shiplett Gallery is dedicated to local Girl Scout history and maintained by the Sweet Onion Service Unit of the Girls Scouts. Special exhibits rotate throughout the year.
