Discover Our Favorite #SpringIntoNY Instagram Posts: Spring in New York State

Great weather means even better Instagram posts hitting the feed! In celebration of spring warming up New York State, we’ve put together a few of our favorite posts of the season. From hiking to flower festivals, there’s no denying spring is in the air! For a chance to be featured on the @iloveny Instagram feed make sure you’re using #SpringIntoNY on all your spring pics, and see if you can capture our state as beautifully as these 'grammers did.

New York City

Escape the fast-paced pace city life for a little while in Central Park. Designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, the park offers fun spring activities like boating on the lake, picnicking in Sheep Meadow, or walking through the Shakespeare Garden.

Greater Niagara

There’s no shortage of things to do in the Niagara Falls area, especially during the spring months. Take advantage of the warmer temperatures and take a Goat Island hike, fish along Lake Ontario, or ride on the bike path to Niagara Falls State Park.

Adirondacks

Sure, the ski season may have ended at Whiteface Mountain, home to the greatest vertical drop east of the Rockies. But adventure continues to call in Adirondack Park. Exchange your winter sports gear for hiking boots and climb Mt. Marcy, New York’s tallest mountain. If you prefer to stay at ground level, you can enjoy trout season, a walk along Lake George, or a whitewater rafting trip.

Hudson Valley

Spring is a perfect season to explore the Hudson Valley, with beautiful views like this one of the Purple Heart Memorial Bridge near Bear Mountain State Park, where you’ll find lake trails, a zoo, and much more.

Finger Lakes

Why not make spring the season you visit Letchworth State Park, often referred to as the Grand Canyon of the East. The gorgeous park has activities for everyone, ranging from kayaking to rafting to horseback riding. End your trip on a high note with a hot air balloon ride, and that memory will stay with you forever!

Chautauqua-Allegheny

There’s always something to do in season at the Chautauqua Institution. Admire flowers in boom before visiting the cafes and farmers market. Extend your trip and get some fresh air on a sunny, spring day in Long Point State Park, or treat the kids to family fun at Midway State Park.

Catskills

Escape reality for a bit and head to the Catskills, named as one of the best places to visit in 2019 by Lonely Planet. Warmer weather means channeling  your inner adrenaline junkie when going on the Hunter Mountain zipline, or spending some time admiring Hudson River School artwork at Thomas Cole National Historic Site.

Thousand Islands

The winter spell is over in the Thousand Islands, and spring weather means attractions are opening up for the season. Sunny weather means spending the day at Boldt Castle or getting onto the river for a scenic boat ride.

Capital-Saratoga

Take a springtime walk along the Empire State Plaza, with tulips along the way in tribute to Albany’s Dutch heritage! May signals the arrival of the Albany Tulip Festival, and you can extend your fun with a visit to the New York State Capitol.

Central New York

Central New York is ready to deliver a fun-filled spring season to visitors. Prepare to feel amazed when you come to Tinker Falls and Fellows Falls. In addition to stunning nature, this region is home to “America’s Most Perfect Village”, the baseball-loving Cooperstown.

Long Island

Just outside of New York City, stunning Long Island has vibrant beach communities that offer endless fun in the warmer months. Mark the return of spring with a visit to Huntington. Take in the views of Huntington Harbor, marvel over Oheka Castle, and learn more about Vanderbilt history at the Vanderbilt Museum and Planetarium.
