Stunning Bird's-Eye Views from the World's Top 10 Tallest Buildings

"The Tallest in the World" is one of the most prestigious titles a skyscraper can achieve. For much of the 20th century, U.S. icons like the Woolworth Building, Empire State Building, and Sears Tower (now Willis Tower) held the record. That changed in 1998 when Malaysia's Petronas Twin Towers claimed the crown.

Since then, Asia and the Middle East have dominated the skyscraper race. Seven of the current top 10 tallest completed buildings are in Asia, with China leading at five. Explore these engineering marvels through breathtaking bird's-eye views below, based on data from the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH).

Before we had planes, trains, and automobiles, we got around on horses.
