Belize Officially Reopens Borders to International Travelers on October 1

After several delays, Belize has officially reopened its borders to international travelers on October 1, marking the start of Phase 3 in the country's five-phase Travel Reopening Plan.
To prioritize health and safety, Belize introduced a "Safe Corridor" through its 9-point "Tourism Gold Standard" Recognition Program. This initiative ensures hotels, restaurants, and tourism businesses meet elevated standards. Compliant establishments earn the prestigious "Gold Seal of Approval."
"We’re confident the Tourism Gold Standard Recognition Program and Gold Seal of Approval will enable safe operations for travelers and the tourism industry as COVID-19 restrictions ease," said BTB Director of Tourism Karen Bevans in a press release. "Visitors must follow our 'new normal' entry requirements and protocols, but their experience will capture Belize’s authentic adventurous spirit."

Key Entry Requirements for Belize Visitors
Prior to arrival, secure your hotel booking and download the official Belize Health App to enable movement tracking. Check in daily via the app.
We recommend a PCR COVID-19 test within 72 hours of departure. A certified negative result grants fast-track entry at the airport, per the official Belize Tourism Board website.
Untested arrivals must test on-site at their expense. Positive cases require 14-day quarantine in an approved facility, also at personal cost. Belize has reported 23 COVID-19 cases and two deaths to date.
Direct flights to Belize are available from American Airlines, United Airlines, and Delta Airlines.
