Myrtle Beach International Airport (MYR) Earns Prestigious GBAC STAR™ Facility AccreditationMyrtle Beach, SC – November 5, 2020 – The Myrtle Beach International Airport (MYR) proudly announces its achievement of GBAC STAR™ Facility Accreditation from the Global Biorisk Advisory Council (GBAC). MYR is the eighth airport worldwide—and the only one in the Carolinas and Georgia—to earn this distinguished accreditation.

GBAC STAR™ represents the cleaning industry's gold standard for outbreak prevention, response, and recovery in facilities. This performance-based program equips organizations with rigorous systems for cleaning, disinfection, and infectious disease prevention, protecting staff and visitors alike. It leverages GBAC's expert training on protocols, proper disinfection methods, and best practices for biohazards, including the novel coronavirus.

Accredited GBAC STAR™ facilities prove they have effective work practices, procedures, and systems in place to prepare for, respond to, and recover from outbreaks and pandemics.
