24 Carrots in Tempe: Fresh, Local Vegan Cuisine That's Good for You

I'm sipping a smoothie called “Berry Me Alive” at 24 Carrots. The playful name became even funnier when I ordered it aloud.

I appreciate establishments that prioritize quality, and 24 Carrots exemplifies this. One of Tempe's newest vegan restaurants, it sources all ingredients locally from Phoenix-area farms, including several in Tempe. The menu evolves weekly to feature the freshest seasonal produce.

Now open at the corner of McClintock and Guadalupe—in the same plaza as Changing Hands Bookstore—this spot relocated from Chandler about a month ago. It specializes in smoothies, juices, salads, sandwiches, and innovative vegan dishes.

Smoothies and juices contain no added sugars—just pure fruit and vegetables. Everything is prepared in-house, except the bread from a Tucson bakery. This includes house-made sauces, veggie burgers, and vegan cheese, ensuring peak freshness and quality. Learn more about their commitment to wholesome food on their website.

Standouts include the Smokey BLT Club with vegan bacon, avocado, aioli, lettuce, and tomato. Hummus varieties rotate but consistently impress. The zucchini noodle salad—with spiralized zucchini, seasonal veggies, seed medley, and lemon tahini or balsamic dressing—is a must-try.

The ambiance blends warmth and modernity: vibrant walls paired with reclaimed wood, eclectic mismatched tables and chairs, and a cozy reading nook with cushioned seating and bookshelves—ideal for relaxing with a nutrient-packed drink.

Visit 24 Carrots at 1701 E. Guadalupe Rd., Tempe. See you there!
