Which Trail Will You Conquer?
Bearwallow Trail, one of the system's original three, is near Logan and showcases some of West Virginia's most breathtaking scenery. Adjacent Chief Logan State Park spans 4,000 acres with hiking, biking, swimming, a lodge, campground, and full-service restaurant for the perfect pit stop.
The Buffalo Mountain Trail stands out as the most historic, featuring one of the highest concentrations of single-track trails—ideal for dirt bike enthusiasts. It connects three charming towns, all with easy access to gas, food, and lodging.

The Cabwaylingo Trail, the first within a state forest, winds through 8,300 acres in southern West Virginia. Nearly 100 miles of trails welcome ATVs, UTVs, ORVs like Jeeps, and dirt bikes. Its name blends the surrounding counties: Cabell, Wayne, Lincoln, and Mingo.
Indian Ridge Trail offers 60+ miles, linking to Pinnacle Creek and Pocahontas for nearly 200 miles total. Start at Ashland Resort in Ashland—the system's largest campground on 1,600 wooded acres. Choose from lodges, cottages, cabins, RV sites, or tents for trail-side comfort.
The Warrior Trail System in West Virginia's southernmost city, War, blends beginner-friendly and challenging paths with stunning scenic overlooks and direct access to amenities.

Ivy Branch Trail, a newcomer just 20 minutes from Charleston, suits all vehicles: full-size ORVs, ATVs, UTVs, and dirt bikes—for family fun or solo exploits.
Devil Anse Trail honors William Anderson "Devil Anse" Hatfield from the famous feud. Based in historic Matewan—also site of the Mine Wars—visit the Matewan Depot Replica Museum to dive into local lore.
The Pocahontas Trail, the easternmost connector to Indian Ridge and Pinnacle Creek, starts near Bramwell—once home to more millionaires per capita than anywhere in the U.S. Tour opulent "Millionaires Row" homes of coal barons.

Pinnacle Creek Trail dazzles with panoramic views and nearby world-class whitewater. Leisurely rhododendron-lined paths lead to Twin Falls State Park, featuring an 18-hole golf course, pool, 47-room lodge, and a living Pioneer Farm museum.
