Vasilainas Moves to Athens: New Era for Piraeus Renowned Restaurant

The new year brings exciting gastronomic news. Vasilainas, the famous restaurant of Piraeus, enters a new era finding a new home in central Athens, behind the Hilton Hotel (13, Vrasida Street). The menu created by three emerging young chefs focuses on fish (there are some meat dishes too) and is served in the restaurant’s impressive hall. Oozora The House (54, Diligianni Street), the luxury Asian bar restaurant in Kifissia, has been refreshed, as it acquired a new space called “Omu”, where gourmet street-food and imaginative cocktails are served, accompanied by live music. The “Food Mafia” of Glyfada has now a sister in the heart of the city, on Voukourestiou Street: the Food Mafia Sin City (4, VouKourestiou Street, in the arcade) features a lunchtime “snack attack menu”, with American street food, while meat takes centre stage in the evening. In the district of Kerameikos now, the Big Kahuna (42, Salaminos Street) turns an old warehouse into an indoor beach bar, with tables in Caribbean style and a hut made of palm leaves for a kitchen, where exotic dishes will be prepared. The brand-new bar-restaurant Ble Alepou  Papantonis (corner of 158, Kifissias Av. & 2, Thoma Ikonomou Str.) in the district of Neo Psychiko, shows a particular preference for meat and wine. Meat will also be in the spotlight at the Steak Frites (18, Filellinon Street), along with pasta and risottos, in a beautiful neoclassical building of the center.
