New England Aquarium
The New England Aquarium is home to 20,000 animals, and while the aquarium staff is busy caring for them, they’re also sharing insights and experiences online. Hop on to the aquarium’s Facebook page every day at 11am for a live virtual visit, where you’ll see animal feedings and care (harbor seal nail trimming, anyone?) along with lots of cool facts and interesting tidbits. And visit the aquarium's website for fun at-home projects and activities.
Museum of Science
Museum of Science has a great series of live "Ask A Scientist" events, including topics such as "Ask a Scientist: Stars," "Ask a Scientist: Ocean Science," "Ask a Scientist: Dinosaurs," and more, all accessible via their Facebook page. They even provide Zoom links for viewers to submit live questions! MOS has also launched a virtual museum on their website, where you’ll find multiple live presentations throughout the day, creative engineering projects, podcasts, kid-friendly activities, and more, with content updated daily.
Boston Harbor Cruises
Boston Harbor Cruises can’t entertain you in person right now, but check in on their Facebook page for some fun ways to stay entertained and centered… sing a sea shanty, or try some whale yoga! Plus, they’ll be adding some virtual marine adventures soon, so be sure to follow their page so you don’t miss out!
Harvard Museum of Natural History
Watch Harvard faculty and other noted scientists share their discoveries and learn about topics ranging from parasitic fungi and swarming bees on HMNS’s website, and follow the museum on Facebook for all kinds of fun and engaging science content, like neanderthal rope making and invisible organisms.
Franklin Park Zoo
There’s nothing like animals when you need a light-hearted pick-me-up! Franklin Park Zoo is bringing the zoo to you on their Facebook page, with lots of live video and fun posts sharing animal enrichment, conservation efforts, endangered animals, and behind-the-scenes glimpse into the animals themselves.
