LakeHouse Launches at Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress: Farm‑to‑Table Dining by the Lakeside
Dining in Orlando can now feel like a lakeside escape. With stunning views of Lake Windsong and a warm, intimate atmosphere, LakeHouse blends family‑friendly comfort with a romantic ambiance. Guests laugh, share meals, and bond over farm‑to‑table fare.
LakeHouse serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner in a space that boasts soaring ceilings and generous natural light, yet feels cozy and inviting. The restaurant’s design, a $2.8 million renovation that replaced the former Cascades, was guided by a desire to create a home‑like setting where guests can relax and enjoy the resort’s tranquil surroundings.
“We wanted LakeHouse to feel like you’re in our home,” says Connor Michael Francis, assistant food‑and‑beverage manager. “Each day we aim to make you feel as comfortable with the menu as you do in your day, enjoying your time at the resort.”
Comfort and variety are at the core of the menu. Breakfast features the LakeHouse Benedict—poached eggs crowned with silky Hollandaise—while dinner highlights dishes such as shrimp and grits and slow‑smoked baby back ribs. Desserts like sticky‑toffee fig and date bread pudding, paired with house‑made ice cream, provide a sweet finish.
Executive Chef David Didzunas notes that LakeHouse is always evolving. “We offer a savory bread pudding that pairs beautifully with a filet,” he says. “It’s a lighter alternative to traditional sides and has become a crowd favorite.”
Mid‑afternoon and evening bring a selection of small plates designed for sharing. “Guests can order two or three and pass them around,” says Didzunas. “Whether it’s a seafood bar, sushi rolls, oysters, or our French‑onion fondue, the dishes are perfect for group enjoyment.”
“The French‑onion fondue—rich with onions and stringy Swiss cheese—is a standout hit,” he adds. “It’s like a French onion soup without the broth.”
The menu is seasonal and heavily influenced by Florida’s culinary palette. Hyatt’s F&B philosophy, “Food thoughtfully sourced, carefully served,” ensures that local purveyors are always the first choice. A walk‑through herb garden showcases the fresh ingredients that appear on guests’ plates.
While the Hyatt brand is synonymous with Orlando’s resort corridor, LakeHouse operates as a stand‑alone restaurant that locals will also love. “The setting is spectacular, and we pour a lot of love and passion into our seasonally driven food,” concludes Didzunas. “We’ll continue to grow, evolve, and expand.”
