Discover extreme thrills and breathtaking views on Orlando’s highest-flying attractions outside the theme parks, including SkyCoaster at Fun Spot America (pictured).

Orlando’s theme parks aren’t the only places where you can experience soaring excitement and panoramic vistas. From massive slingshots and swing rides to the iconic observation wheel, balloon flights, and more, the city’s tourism district offers high‑flying thrills for everyone—no theme‑park admission required.

All attractions incorporate enhanced health and safety protocols to protect guests, so you can focus on the adventure. Gear up for the sky‑high thrill of a lifetime in Orlando!

Please note: Depending on the timing of your visit, some experiences may be temporarily modified or closed. Learn more about healthy travel and what’s open in Orlando, and check with your favorite attractions for their current status.

SkyCoaster at Fun Spot America

Fun Spot America offers two SkyCoaster models. The 250‑foot version—world’s second‑tallest—is located on International Drive (I‑Drive). The world‑champion model reaches 300 feet and is found at Fun Spot’s Kissimmee location near Walt Disney World® Resort.

Both rides are billed as “the closest thing to jumping out of a plane besides jumping out of a plane.” Enjoy freefall, flight, and spectacular views, but remember you must pull the release cord yourself!

Restrictions: Guests must be at least 42 inches for both versions.

Orlando StarFlyer at ICON Park®

At ICON Park®, the Orlando StarFlyer stands 450 feet tall, making it the world’s tallest swing ride and taller than the park’s Observation Wheel. It’s also one of the most affordable adventures, with single rides priced at $14.08 in person and $11.27 online; repeat rides cost $8.45.

The two‑person swing seats rotate 360 degrees at speeds up to 60 mph from a height of 425 feet—an experience that’s as thrilling as it is exhilarating.

Restrictions: Guests must be at least 44 inches.

The Wheel at ICON Park

For those who prefer a more leisurely view, the 400‑foot Observation Wheel at ICON Park is the tallest on the U.S. east coast. It offers a calm ascent and breathtaking sights of Universal Orlando Resort, SeaWorld® Orlando, and other landmarks.

After riding The Wheel or the StarFlyer, consider exploring ICON Park’s additional attractions, including Madame Tussauds Orlando, SEA LIFE Orlando Aquarium, 7D Dark Ride Adventure, and In the Game ICON Park.

Restrictions: None.

Wallaby Ranch Hang Gliding Flight Park

For a truly airborne experience, head to Wallaby Ranch Hang Gliding Flight Park, located 30 minutes southwest of Walt Disney World in Davenport. Tandem flights reach 2,000 feet, guided by an experienced instructor so you can simply enjoy the view.

Wallaby Ranch also features a pool, climbing wall, children’s playground, and nature trails, making it a versatile family destination.

Restrictions: Guests must be at least 4 years old.

Balloon Rides

Orlando hosts several hot‑air balloon operators, starting with Aerophile at Disney Springs®, part of Walt Disney World Resort. The custom‑built helium balloon accommodates up to 28 passengers and offers an 8‑ to 10‑minute flight with views up to 10 miles away.

Other operators in the area include Aerostat Adventures, Bob’s Balloons, Orlando Balloon Adventures, and Painted Horizons, with some flights reaching 2,500 feet.

Restrictions: Varies by operator; check with your chosen company.
