This February, Dallas hosts a series of events that honor Black History Month, showcasing the rich history and lasting contributions of African Americans to our culture, society, and shared heritage.
- Experience the Black History Month Film Series at the Dallas Holocaust and Human Rights Museum. On Feb. 9, watch 42 and on Feb. 16, see Selma—cinematic portraits of true events that highlight pivotal moments in American history.
- On Feb. 7, visit the South Dallas Cultural Center for the free show A Glimpse of Anni, presented by the Beckles Dancing Company. The performance celebrates African‑American dance icons and their influence on contemporary choreography.
- Start your day on Feb. 8 with the “SOUL OF DFW” Food and Black History Bus Tour. Board a chauffeured bus that explores landmarks tied to Dallas’ African‑American legacy and stops at Black‑owned restaurants for soul‑food tastings.
- Also on Feb. 8, return to the South Dallas Cultural Center to hear the Unfaded Brass Band. Their blend of New Orleans brass, Mardi Gras Indian rhythms, R&B, funk, and soul promises a vibrant, unforgettable concert.
