What we were clicking on and talking about this week at #FathomHQ.

While doing research for my trip to Japan next month, I came across one of the sweetest websites I've ever seen. One Day - A Life with Dogs is a visual diary that documents people living in Japan with a cute pup by their side. You can also find them on Instagram. – Berit, editor

One more thing to add to Berit's Japan to-do list: Harry is a new hedgehog cafe in Tokyo's Roppongi district. – Becky, assistant editor

Oh, you guys, now I have to come clean: I've been following Montjiro, a Japanese Chihuahua modeling Tokyo's latest fastions. He's the best-dressed dog on Instagram. – Jeralyn, editorial director

Looks like I have to head to Japan for my gig as the global food correspondent for Prince Street, a new podcast by, for, and about people who love food. In the first episode, I recount my decade-long obsession with trying to score an Italian cooking robot. Check out the preview below. – Pavia, CEO

How do pay-for-like campaigns work? You know, those spam posts promising fifteen thousand immediate followers for fifteen bucks. I always thought bots were behind the black magic, but surprise, they're run by real people. Glen Greenwald has the scoop from Bangladesh. – Daniel

Speaking of real people in surprising places, the Swedish tourism board launched the Swedish Number. Anyone can call and be connected to a random Swede and talk about anything, as this New York Times reporter did. Oh, Sweden. You're so cute! – Pavia

Loved scrolling through these photographs of New York’s early-90s fashion scene. – Becky

April 16 is Obscura Day, a day dedicated to off-the-grid exploration. In stark contrast to Rubber Eraser Day and National Cheeseball Day, which fall the day before and after, this holiday is actually worth celebrating (in an old mine in Kansas City perhaps). Click here to find events near you. – Daniel, editorial assistant
