Santa Fe Celebrates Global Arts and Culture: Unmissable 2017 Events and Exhibitions
From Diego Velázquez to Frida Kahlo, Leonardo da Vinci's masterpieces to innovative interactive art, and passionate flamenco performances, Santa Fe—the City Different—hosts a yearlong citywide Santa Fe Celebrates Global Arts & Culture festival in 2017. Leading institutions including museums, the Santa Fe Opera, Lensic Performing Arts Center, and vibrant cultural markets unite to present world-class art and performances from around the globe.
VISUAL ARTS
The Prado in Santa Fe

For the first time in the U.S., Santa Fe debuts 92 stunning reproductions of masterpieces from Madrid's Museo Nacional del Prado. Highlights include Fra Angelico’s The Annunciation (1425–28), Rogier van der Weyden’s Descent from the Cross (1435), Diego Velázquez’s Las Meninas (1656), and Francisco de Goya’s The 3rd of May 1808 in Madrid. Showcasing 14th–19th century masters, the exhibition transforms Cathedral Park's sylvan setting into an idyllic outdoor gallery. On view May 10 through October 29, 2017.

Meow Wolf delivers immersive, multimedia worlds blending storytelling, jungle gyms, haunted houses, children's museums, art exhibits, and live music for all ages. Memorial Day Weekend launches The Experience Tube food truck, music realms, performers, DJs, and more.

Mirror Mirror: Photographs of Frida Kahlo
