Panorama Music House: Live Music, Delectable Food, and Historic Charm in Downtown Lake Charles
Downtown Lake Charles is alive with vibrant energy, and Panorama Music House plays a starring role. I had the pleasure of touring the venue with owner Jay Ecker, who shared its fascinating history and his passion for crafting an inclusive atmosphere where everyone feels at home.

Rich History in the Making
Housed in a building over 100 years old, Panorama Music House is a true labor of love for Jay Ecker. As the owner of popular Rikenjaks Brewing Company—originally at 331 Broad Street before relocating to 3716 Ryan Street—Jay personally oversaw every renovation detail. The site once served as offices and printing for The American Press and even a trade school in the 1940s. Jay takes pride in preserving this historic gem.

The Iconic Sign's Story
The nostalgic Panorama Music House sign catches every visitor's eye. Originally from the nearby "Panorama Burger House," Jay acquired, restored, and repurposed it with help from Acme Signs. Removing "Burger" revealed "Steak" underneath, uncovering layers of history. Dismantled from its post and rebuilt for wall mounting, it now stands proudly. Jay recently received the CALCA Commendation Award from the Calcasieu Historical Preservation Society for this "Commendable Adaptive Reuse of a Historic Sign," pictured with General Manager Stephen Casanave.

Explore the Venue
Panorama features a state-of-the-art PA system and acoustic panels for superior sound quality. Jay's hands-on renovations reflect his craftsmanship and love for Lake Charles in every detail.

The main room offers comfortable seating, a bar, and optimal stage views. Open weekdays for lunch at 11 AM—check the menu below and follow on Facebook/Instagram for specials.

Another cozy dining room, featuring the stunning "Lava Lamp Installation"!

The expansive rec room boasts pool tables, skee-ball, arcade games, foosball, and a basketball hoop—perfect for family fun.

My favorite: the outdoor "grown-up playground" with tables, swings, giant Jenga, and live music from the main stage. Family-friendly until 9 PM, it's designed for endless enjoyment.
