Lulu’s Specialty Snocones and More is elevating this tradition with Instagram-worthy masterpieces. On opening day, wait times reached four hours, but the owner and team have streamlined operations by prepping elaborate toppings 1.5 hours before opening. Toppings include cheesecake slices, cotton candy, ice cream, cake, brownies, gummy worms, lollipops, pickles, whipped cream, marshmallows, rainbow belts, snow caps, Nerds, Sour Patch Kids, and sour spray.
Signature flavors like Sour Power, Gimme S’more Chocolate, Sherbert Delight, #DoItForTheGram, Berry Cheesecake, Rainbow Brite (shown here), Shark Attack, Mangonada, Strawberry Jubilee, and Cotton Candy Sweet as Gold feature unique combinations of candy, cake, fruit, and ice cream. Co-owner Ashley Frantz shared that family travels inspired these creations, recognizing Lake Charles needed standout treats. She's incorporating artistic elements into the décor, like the angel wings wall, with plans for off-season expansions.
The Frantz family took over when previous owners Carol and Dan Elliott retired from Elliott’s Cajun Snowballs. Driven by entrepreneurial dreams and a desire to offer something unique to Lake Charles residents and visitors, they launched Lulu’s on August 1st—named after their daughter Paisley, nicknamed Lulu. Patrons often meet Lulu herself, who offers water or treats while waiting.
Beyond specialties, customize your snocone with any of nearly 50 flavors and 20+ toppings in a styrofoam cup, souvenir flower cup, or kiddie pouch. Menu items include nachos, chicken and waffles, waffle pops, ice cream floats, Hot Cheetos with cheese, and candy kabobs. Dog owners will love Pupcones ($2) with chicken, beef, or veggie flavors topped with treats from Great Harvest Bread Co.
