Smith-Berry Vineyard & Winery – Family‑Owned Kentucky Farm & Wine Destination
Location:
855 Drennon Rd.New Castle, KY 40050
History of the Winery: In 1981 we purchased 180 acres in rural Henry County. Like many farmers, our dedication to the land has driven us to diversify. Over 35 years, each venture has been chosen for both financial success and personal fulfillment.
Initially we raised a dairy herd and grew Burley tobacco. Our portfolio expanded to free‑range chicken, turkeys, vegetables, and beef. Today we continue farming – raising pasture beef cattle and hay crops without chemicals, antibiotics, or growth hormones. We also grow fresh vegetables for ourselves and for events.
We transitioned from tobacco to grape cultivation and winemaking, building on the strong relationships we established twenty‑five years ago when customers first came for farm‑fresh produce. Those customers now attend our concerts and purchase our wines – they are more than patrons, they are friends.
