Discover Parque El Tecuán: Durango's Protected Pine & Oak Sanctuary

Durango state has some of the most wonderful natural wonders in The Sierra Madre Occidental. Many of its communities own a representative vegetation of the semi-humid temperate rainforest
where you will find pines and oaks.

Here, you will find the Ecologic Park “El Tecuán”, that offers beautiful natural attractions with its blend of pine, oak and cedar forest. It has an expanse of 894 hectares and it is considered a Protected Natural Area since 2018.
Because of the great extension of its forest and trees, this is a meeting point for nature lovers, who come to this zone to camp in its semi-cold climate and to enjoy some days of adventure and quiet.

This park has 10 rustic cottages, a children’s playground, grills, sport fields in addition to beautiful landscapes. This is a region in which it is possible to watch wapiti deers and more than 60 bird species.

This reservoir is located 40 minutes from the capital, at the 57 kilometer of the freeway Durango-Mazatlán.
