Start your journey with a walk of about 15 minutes from the parking lot to the main pyramid. It is highly recommended to wear comfortable shoes. At the foot of the main structure, you will find staircases to start exploring this roofed archaeological zone.
Inside, its colorful murals which still preserve their original Pre-Hispanic pigments will amaze you, as they have been protected by a roof that prevents the harshness climate to damage them.
Right in front of Cacaxtla, is Xochitecatl, an archaeological zone of Tlaxcala rarely visited. However, it has a unique beauty since when standing on the plain you will have a panoramic view of the whole valley. Both of them are located just half-hour away by car from the city of Tlaxcala.
