In a spirit of collaboration, Georgia Humanities gathers, preserves, and shares our state's distinctive stories through a range of cultural and educational programs and resources. We support many programs statewide, including the online New Georgia Encyclopedia, National History Day Georgia, the Smithsonian Institution's Museum on Main Street, the Governor's Awards for the Arts & Humanities, PRIME TIME Family Reading Time, book co-publications, and more. We also award grants within the state for cultural programming. Programs are implemented in partnership with public and academic libraries, schools, museums, and other cultural and educational entities.

Founded in 1971, Georgia Humanities is an independent, nonprofit affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities. Our work nurtures Georgians' understanding of ourselves and of our state's place in history and in the world, and it fosters thoughtful and engaged citizenship.

Georgia Humanities shares stories that move us and make us.
