West Point Visitor Information Center – Georgia’s Innovative Solar & Safety Tech Hub

Presidential Pathways – West Point

Located on I‑85 in the “Ray” corridor, the West Point Visitor Information Center now hosts two groundbreaking, U.S. firsts: Wattway drive‑over solar panels and the WheelRight drive‑over tire safety system. These installations transform ordinary highways into renewable energy generators and enhance road safety, showcasing the power of collaboration among private industry, philanthropy, and state government.

Georgia operates nine Visitor Information Centers along its interstates, offering guests up-to-date travel information. Hours: 8:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m. daily. Restrooms are open 7:00 a.m.–11:00 p.m. All centers close on Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day. For further assistance, email wvic@georgia.org.
