Essex Heritage Unveils Exciting New Harbor Tours to Misery Island This Summer

Essex Heritage is offering two new harbor tours this summer in addition to their Boat Tours to Bakers Island Light Station!

The Island Hops Tour (21+) features a narrated cruise of the Salem Sound Island and ‘hops’ by Notch. The tour will cruise by Eagle Island and Bakers Island, with a drop-off at Misery Island, creating the perfect opportunity to learn the history and explore Salem’s Harbor Islands. Tours depart Thursdays at 5:30 pm through August 29, 2019 and advance tickets are available online.

The Misery Island Castaway Tour shares the history of privates and privateers who once sailed through Salem Sound with a drop-off at Misery Island. Once on the island, the excursion continues with a scavenger hunt for pirate treasure around the island. The tour is perfect for the whole family (ages four and up) and it departs Fridays at 2:00 pm through August 30. Tickets are available in advance through Essex Heritage.

All Essex Heritage harbor tours depart from 10 Blaney Street by the Salem Ferry Landing and tickets are also available at the Salem Regional Visitor Center at 2 New Liberty Street.
