Meet LiLou: San Francisco International Airport's First Therapy Pig Delighting Travelers

Emotional support animals are increasingly familiar sights in air travel, from turkeys to tortoises aboard flights. Now, San Francisco International Airport (SFO) welcomes a unique addition: two-year-old piglet LiLou, the newest member of the Wag Brigade, SFO's team of 22 trained therapy dogs.

Launched in 2013, the Wag Brigade aims to enhance the passenger experience by reducing stress for even the most anxious travelers. "Since its launch in 2013, the SFO Wag Brigade has become a favorite amenity among travelers," said Director of Guest Experience Christopher Birch.

According to an official SFO press release, LiLou is the first known therapy pig at a U.S. airport. Beyond her airport patrols, she charms visitors in costumes with painted nails and performs tricks, including playing a toy piano.
